I don’t think I’ve ever met someone more excited for snow in March than Tatum. She made it very clear that she wanted classic Wisconsin winter engagement photos (in other words, she wanted snow!). We were shooting for late winter, so of course the weather in Wisconsin gets a bit unpredictable. You can expect snow at some point in the spring (even all the way into May!), but it’s a matter of when and how fast it’s going to melt.
We were racing Mother Nature’s clock, but we managed to sneak it in just in time! Luckily, a snow storm blew through one night in mid-March. Tatum flew down to Madison from Green Bay to make these Wisconsin winter engagement photos a reality!
And boy was it worth the wait! We caught a beautiful dusting of snow at Indian Lake County Park in Cross Plains. I have to say that Tatum’s dress against that backdrop makes it look like a fairytale!
I loved that Tatum had a vision for her engagement session, and that we were able to plan it out to make it come to life (with a little luck from Frosty). They’ll be getting married next June in Green Bay. I already know it’s going to be planned to a beautiful T. And I can’t wait!
Indian Lake County Park is one of my favorite places near Madison for engagement photos! It’s located in Cross Plains, just west of Middleton. It’s only a short drive from the city, but it truly feels like you are much farther away. The first time I went there, I actually felt like I was in a different country!
