This sweet girl is one!
It was a warm, but beautiful evening for a family photography session at James Madison Park! After E’s one year photos, I had, “If all the rain drops were lemon drops and gumdrops, oh what a rain that would be!” stuck in my head for DAYS!! I was a Barney fanatic when I was little, but I haven’t sung that song in a very long time. I still get it stuck in my head when I look at these adorable photos. See if you can spot the photos where we got to the part: “Standing outside with my mouth open wide…Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah!” (Hint: It looks like E is yelling at me)
No, I didn’t just start randomly singing Barney songs. There are a lot of techniques I use to get a child to look at the camera, and of course mom and dad usually know them best! They started singing E’s favorite songs, and it worked like a charm. If mom and dad weren’t right behind me, my singing got E to look at me, and often got the cutest reactions.
Funny facial expressions and a busy park
This ADORABLE one-year-old was full of smiley and funny facial expressions. I had the honor of taking her 6-month-old pictures too, and while she of course was just as cute, she didn’t have as many expressions up her sleeve. Scroll down to see her at 6 months, and some bonus side-by-side photos!
We spent the evening at James Madison Park in downtown Madison, where it was very busy with people starting to come out of coronavirus quarantine. Luckily, the pretty spots I had in mind for photos were on the far ends of the park! They made for the perfect backdrops for this stylish, pink-tutu-wearing girl. E’s talented momma even made her adorable “One” button shirt! I became friends with Kelli and Erich through tennis shortly after I moved to Madison, and I LOVE watching their family grow. Thank you both for asking me to capture this special season of your lives!
Some of E’s 6-month photos from October!
And some side-by-side just for fun!
She’s always had a great taste in shoes 🙂
