A backyard wedding in Wisconsin —
Tonya and Kyle had to reschedule their wedding day — twice. Originally, it was supposed to happen in May, but they rescheduled it for August because of the coronavirus. On that day in May, they watched thunderstorms and tornadoes on the Wisconsin radar from where they live in South Carolina. They might have been thinking rescheduling wasn’t so bad! 🙂
A double wedding celebration
When they had to reschedule the big celebration AGAIN, they had waited long enough to get married. They decided to go through with a more intimate wedding in Tonya’s mom’s backyard in Monroe, Wisconsin (just south of Madison). And it was BEAUTIFUL! The weather was perfect (no tornadoes). Tonya and her wedding dress were gorgeous. Kyle was so laid back and appreciative. And the best part (aside from being married of course) — they get to celebrate again next year! I’ll be their for their bigger celebration next August, and I cannot wait! It’s not often I get to celebrate with one couple twice!
Throwing a beautiful backyard wedding
Despite all the stress and changes, these two made the most out of their day. If you need any ideas on how to make a backyard wedding still look elegant, luxurious and beautiful, check out these photos! Tonya’s family and friends put the bouquets together (they’ll use them next year too!). The bridesmaids wore Maxi dresses instead of the bridesmaid dresses they’ll wear next year. The groomsmen still wore suits, and everything was beautifully color-coordinated. A wooden altar stood in the middle of a field, and two rustic white doors marked the start of the aisle. Tony and Kyle did their first look under the Maple tree in the front yard. And of course you must scroll down to see two of my favorite participants at every wedding – the adorable ring bearer and flower girl 🙂
Tonya and Kyle, I had so much fun being a part of your special day, and I can’t believe I’m lucky enough to get to do it twice!!
