These two faced a kind of stress that no couple deserves to deal with before their wedding. They had to find a new venue 10 days before their wedding day, AND move it to a location 90 minutes away! But if you didn’t know this, you’d never guess it. Their day was beautiful, joyful and full of so much love! In a sort of twisted fate, they ended up having a Hilton Garden Inn wedding in Oshkosh. That hotel is in the backyard of the Wittman Regional Airport. Fun fact: I grew up two blocks from this airport! Gideon is a pilot and these two travel everywhere. One of their guests flew in for their wedding and parked their plane right by the hotel! Needless to say, we had the most epic photo prop!
Despite the stress, I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect setting. Courtney is a traveling nurse, and these two were born to explore new places. The newlyweds had a long-distance relationship almost the entire time they were dating and engaged! Their wedding was filled with adorable mementos to their love of traveling – including an epic cupcake tower from The Cake Guru. The cake on top symbolized the location of their honeymoon in – get this – Africa!! Gideon proposed to Courtney in Iceland, and they even moved to Alaska shortly after their wedding. I can only imagine how good it feels to move to the same place together at the same time, as husband and wife. I definitely relate to their love for travel, but I would have a hard time keeping up with them!

AND to top it all off, her best friend played guitar and SANG their first dance song! It was incredible. We topped the night off with a lit balloon exit. Some kind and caring friends tried to hide the fact that the balloons had deflated from Courtney. She caught on. But she was the best sport about it, and you wouldn’t even know in the pictures. I love how she made this vision come true with all smiles!
