When you think of The Edgewater Hotel in Madison, you might think of weddings, pretty staircases, the beautiful interior, or even ice skating in the winter. But the outside of The Edgewater is actually a beautiful, downtown location for engagement and wedding photos too!
Ashley and Kyle came all the way from Washington D.C. for their downtown Madison engagement photos! Well, okay, they had a venue tour with family and a few tastings too. We spent some time taking photos around The Edgewater and the lake, and even took a few Washington-esque photos with Madison’s capitol building in the background.
The Edgewater may have a beautiful interior staircase, but one of my favorite shots is on one of its unique outdoor staircases (scroll to the 4th image)! After exploring The Edgewater (and maneuvering our way around some high school prom goers), we drove to Tenney Park just in time for a gorgeous sunset.
Ashley and Kyle will have their wedding at one of my favorite Madison venues, The Fields Reserve, next April. Although they live in D.C., Ashley is from a nearby town in northern Illinois, so they picked a location that was pretty close for a lot of her family. From D.C. to Wisconsin to North Carolina – Kyle proposed in the mountains near Asheville (that just so happens to be on my list of places to visit in the near future!). A romantic mountain proposal sounds pretty dreamy if you ask me!
These two are so laid back and fun to be around. We love when those connections are just instant! We can’t wait for your wedding day, Ashley and Kyle. We’re crossing our fingers for a much warmer April in 2023! 🙂
