It was a beautiful start to 2020! John and Anna kicked off the new decade by getting married on New Year’s Day. They decided to have a simple, intimate ceremony at a nursing home in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin so John’s sweet 99-year-old mother could be a part of the ceremony. Rita is everything I hope to be if I make it to 99 — still dancing, flirting and cracking jokes! The Christmas tree in the lobby at the Golden Years made for the perfect holiday wedding backdrop.
It was a snow-less December until the very last day of the year, and the timing could not have been more perfect! We took a few shots outside the Abbey Resort on Lake Geneva just before lunch. The fresh powder on the ice made it so dreamy!
Lesson learned – It really doesn’t matter where or what time of the day you get married. Have your ceremony in a church, a barn, a palace or a nursing home — As l long as there’s love and the people you most want to spend the day with, it will be one you cherish forever! <3 Thank you, John and Anna, for letting me be a part of your very special day!
