These two have quite the love story! Most of their relationship up until this point has been long distance. They both travel for work a lot. Within a few months of meeting, they were living in separate states! I give them so much credit for not only making a long distance relationship work, but obviously making it thrive. Already in the midst of living such an adventurous life, Gideon proposed to Courtney in ICELAND! Can it get any dreamier? Courtney thought it might be coming, but Gideon made her sit on it for a bit while they explored the country. In fact, the spot Gideon picked out actually froze over by the time they drove around the island and made their way back to that spot! They both radiate happiness as they tell the story. That’s just how they looked at each other throughout our entire engagement session too!
They’re getting married on probably the coolest date of the year (10-10-20). Hopefully they’ll be spending a bit more time together! They’re both settled in Wisconsin for now. We chatted all about our mutual love for traveling and their experiences living in new places. They might not be here for long…They have their eyes on Alaska! I could listen for hours about their travels (I might be most jealous of the time they lived in Hawaii though!).
We took advantage of them both being in Wisconsin at the same time, and had so much fun exploring downtown Madison! Library Mall by the University of Wisconsin is one of my favorite places to shoot. We walked from campus to James Madison Park, and stopped at a small hidden gem along the way called Period Garden Park. I’ve been dying to take some engagement pictures here, and it did not disappoint! It’s small, but overflowing with florals and features a beautiful fountain and romantic staircase.
This adorable couple made my job so easy, and I live for the joy that radiates from their photos! Scroll down to see a few of my favorites from downtown Madison, Period Garden Park (take a look at that fountain!), and James Madison Park.
