I’ve been thinking a lot about the 2020 seniors lately, and what they’re facing right now. My entire junior year of high school I couldn’t wait for senior year, and my entire senior year I couldn’t wait for graduation! I had been thinking about high school graduation since I was in middle school. By the time I was a senior, I think I honestly just wanted to high school to be over with. I took graduation for granted, never thinking it was something that could be universally canceled. I look back on that day and the pictures of my friends and I in our gowns and I can feel how happy that day was; how much fun the celebration was. I hope, hope, hope these seniors will be able to experience that day. It won’t be on the day they had on their calendars, but I believe it will come.
In the meantime, I wanted to feature the amazing seniors I had the chance to work with over the past year. I start with the STUNNING Megan, who is actually graduating from my alma mater. Shout out Oshkosh West Wildcats! Megan was supposed to walk the stage 10 years after I did (10!!!), and I have faith she’ll get to soon!
I had SO much fun getting to know Megan and her mom during our session. We walked around downtown Oshkosh, and found some pretty fun spots that really added a lot of variety to the gallery. Megan learned about my obsession with light-colored walls (hello light blue wall!!) and we determined that she needs to give me fashion and makeup counseling 💅💕 I even met her family’s dancing foster cockatoo. No joke! Probably the best video I’ll ever take (check out my behind-the-scenes (BTS) Insta Story highlight reel).
I remember spending the car ride home from Oshkosh to Madison thinking about how lucky I am that this is my reality. Getting to know the kindest people like Megan and her mom, and capturing such exciting moments in their lives.
If you’re missing out on something super important to you right now, whether it’s a graduation, a wedding, or a family trip — just know that your day will come. No one is going to forget about that special day that you deserve! <3
Of course we got mom in for a few! 🙂
I seriously had so much fun with these two!
