We kept Ethan’s senior photography session in Waunakee short and sweet, just the way he wanted it. Sometimes guys don’t want to make a big to-do about their senior photos. They know they need a yearbook photo and their moms and grandmas want some nice pictures of them, and that is totally okay! I have three younger brothers who are currently in their late teens/early 20’s, so I 100% get the dynamic of teen guys. Well, maybe 80%. I don’t think I want to know everything! Ethan was cooperative, happy and relaxed after a few minutes, which made for a great session! Plus, I got to hang out with his mom, who happens to play tennis with me 🙂
A small-town gem
One of my favorite locations for senior photos is the adorable village of Waunakee (right outside of Madison) (and proudly, the only Waunakee in the world!). I love walking around this little town, especially its downtown area! I have a thing for the downtowns of small towns. Ethan, his mom and I walked up and down Main Street, capturing the variety that small area has to offer.
What’s up with railroad tracks?
One of my favorites is the second picture down on the left, with the railroad tracks disappearing behind him. We actually stopped on the sidewalk where the tracks intersect with the street, and I believe that’s a quilt shop behind him (but for the sake of Ethan’s reputation, we’ll pretend it’s not). I get a few requests for railroad shots in my sessions. Although it is illegal (and dangerous) to be on the tracks, we can find ways to incorporate them legally and safely like this!
