The Eloise Wedding Barn: A stunning summer wedding

Kristina and Johnny got married at The Eloise Wedding Barn in Mount Horeb on a HOT, HOT day in August. I keep saying that it’s the day a Bears fan (Kristina) became a Packers fan (Johnny), but unfortunately I don’t think that’s how it works. Kristina is from Illinois and Johnny is from Wisconsin, and despite their differences in favorite football teams, these two are perfect for each other…And that was so evident on their wedding day!

When Kristina called me back in December, I don’t think I did a very good job hiding my excitement that her wedding would be held at The Eloise Wedding Barn in Mount Horeb. The Eloise is a new wedding venue in Southern Wisconsin, and it is quickly becoming one of the most sought after modern barn venues in the state. It’s a light and bright photographer’s dream come true, with it’s white walls, vaulted ceilings, balcony, gorgeous chandeliers, and huge windows overlooking a wooded area. It’s a venue that gives you a taste of Wisconsin, but will elevate your wedding to the modern, elegant and sophisticated party of your dreams!

Getting ready at The Eloise Wedding Barn

Kristina put so much thought and detail into their wedding day, and you could see it throughout every part of the day! We were able to set aside some time in the morning for detail shots at The Eloise, before Kristina and Johnny got to the venue. The bridal suite and the windows and light walls make for the perfect area for getting ready photos and detail shots! After Kristina got her dress on, she did the most adorable reveal with her bridesmaids (right up there in my favorite photos from the day).

A beautiful outdoor ceremony

Their ceremony was held right outside The Eloise barn. It was a blessing that everything was so close to the barn – because boy did we need the air conditioning that day! After family, wedding party and a few husband and wife portraits, Kristina and Johnny got to relax and celebrate in the A/C for a while before we snuck them out again for golden hour photos. And what a GORGEOUS golden hour it was! The sun sets in front of The Eloise, and we found some perfect spots where the sun just peeked through the trees across the street. Kristina wore a beautiful, long veil, and photos that showed off that veil were important to her. These ended up being my absolute favorite from the day (along with the behind the scenes photos of Ryan throwing the veil up in the air and sprinting out of the shot)!

An unforgettable dance floor

I rarely say this about weddings, but in my opinion, the part of the day that best symbolized the relationship Johnny and Kristina have, and the two worlds of friends and families they were bringing together, was on the dance floor. Yep, I said it. I’ve never witnessed a dance floor quite like Kristina and Johnny’s. Not only were these two on it all night, their friends and family kept it PACKED. They were singing, dancing in circles, laughing, cheering, and who knows, maybe even crying! Just kidding. But the excitement, happiness and love that came out on that dance floor was astounding.
